Background Story:
It was an accident. Dent was a history professor. One day, he found a mysterious book revealing a fact that there was a missing page in history. During this period, creatures were highly advanced in organic technology. They believed all answers could be found in a living body.
The next thing Dent noticed was that he had been studying the book for too long. His face became sharp, and his body hunched. He had been cursed by the book.
Days passed, and the curse began to affect his mind as well. He found no cure. His only hope turned to the book itself, but studying its knowledge would lead to absolute horror.

Animation / Modelling & Texturing
My Contribution:
All of these textures and the designs of props, including room setups. To achieve these stylized textures and I don't want to loose controllability, I deside to hand-paint all these textures with out the help of any shaders. Also, being the Director/Producer of this project means I need to take control over the work flow, and set up naming convensions.

Concept Explanation:
Following this overall tone, Dent is described as paranoid, overly excitable, suffering from neurasthenia. I am an emotional person, and in this project, I am trying to evoke the strongest feelings, allowing the audience to feel the oppression.

Concept Art / UE
Concept Explanation:
I am drawn to projects that express motion, focusing on the themes of rebirth, chaos, and depression. Tentacles and bones serve to highlight both the setting in my background story and as an extension to the original animation.
The shape of this shadowless lamp resembles a sunflower, symbolizing hope and recovery, yet it is corrupted and twisted.

Additional Information:
After I have directed “Hope”, I saw a huge potential to bring this story to the next level. It contains everything a game needs – a clear goal and a lot of mysteries to solve. It will be a strong narrative game, throwing the player into the main character’s hopeless position.
These are the rooms I made for this scene where Dent lives.
Room tour:
1: Wake up in a very narrow bedroom. Soon the computer screen will start to shine, catching player’s attention.
2: Over to the computer, you will see a list of experiment records. The player needs to finish this unfinished experiment.
3: On going to the bath room, where the player can look at himself for the first time. Every time the player fails, he will look even more shriveled.
4: In order to get to the basement, the player needs to walk down a long stair. This space is for exhibiting the mysteries solved.
5: In the basement, where the player complete that experiment and find the clue toward the next location. This basement will act as an upgrading center, where the player can install whatever he gets from his journey to his body.
Foot Roll:

Binding / Arm Tool, Legs & Foot roll
Leg IK:
Basic function on a leg. IK curve have a perfered angle, so that it know where to bend. no flip knee is made by blend constrain it from pelvis to heel, so that no matter how the leg moves the knee control is always in front of and in the middle of these two joints.
This is the foot roll set up. The number 30 and 60 controls the degree which ball joint and toe joint influence the foot. Toe rotation linstep returns a value from 0 to 1, and times the variabe "Roll". This will generate a smooth number. For ball rotation, "1-" is used to anti-rotate it so that so that it will not increase too dramatic.
Arm tool:
This is an arm tool that suits almost all kinds of arm. It has flexibility to fit in each part and still rotate.
This expression controls the rotation
This expression links the scaleX of each joint to a variable calculated from current_length divided by original_length. This creates a flexible arm tool that can be installed on different subjects.
